Cake Poker is a sleeping giant of a poker room that may now realise its full potential now that it is one of the few rooms to still allow US players.

Cake owns its own network, and has bought on quality partners to share on the network, including Power Poker and UnaBomber poker.

So how does the site hold up – well pretty decently actually. They have a good range of games, all the major withdrawal methods, solid software, exciting bonuses and promotions and best of all, a whole heap of terrible players.

The site offers numerous variants of Hold’em, Omaha and Omaha Hi-Lo at levels to suit any bankroll but, as with most rooms, the majority of the traffic is in the low-stakes No-Limit Hold’em games.

Traffic and playerwise, the site is consistently duking it out in the top 10 sites, and seems to be one of the few that is growing month on month, even more rapidly now it’s still operating in the US.

Where Cake Poke have invested a lot of time and money is in its loyalty program which has several tiers, and rewards very generously. They certainly lead the way on player retention and other sites could do well to try and learn from what they have done and how.

So why has it never been the big contender it finally is now? Well despite it being very solid in software terms, it has never benfitted from being the best looking poker site. The Cake Poker software has also been upgraded in recent years to version 2.0, which includes a fully re-sizable lobby, direct registration, player stat tools and complete table customization.

Cake Poker might not be the biggest online poker room in the world, but it’s a revelation to jaded poker players.
